GeoPackage

GeoPackage has been developed to be an open compact container designed around an SQLite database. Originally implemented to house vector information it has been expanded to include imagery, elevation and media content. It’s powerful concept allows for dynamic packaging of all geospatial content of a digital twin implementation for a defined area into a single easily transmittable file. Originally adopted by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) in 2014 it has been updated in four increments over the years.
